The Process of Elimination

Students work hard to travel back in time to Colonial Williamsburg.

The Process of Elimination

September 6, 2017 Machaira

The Williamsburg trip is one of the biggest events for eighth graders at Riverton Middle School. As a matter of fact the Williamsburg Trip is one of the biggest in the whole school. Every year Mr. Weaver, an amazing teacher and coach, takes nine kids on a trip to Washington D.C., Maryland, Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, Yorktown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Baltimore, Maryland for ten days. Going on the Williamsburg trip is a tremendous honor.

The students will be put through three tests proving whether they are able to be trusted to go on such a long trip. The first test is an essay that is graded by three teachers. If you pass this test, you proceed on to the next test. This test is to see how well you do at school. They check your grades and your reputation at school. The last test is an interview. You are put in a room with three teachers and are asked a series of questions regarding many different topics. If you pass the tests and you are chosen, then you will go through a process of learning to help you on the trip. Through this process you will have to leave school early some days and stay late others. You will also go to five mile for a meet and greet to help you communicate with students from others schools.

The trip itself will be a very exciting one! After all the chaos is over, you can finally enjoy yourself. You will get to see many exciting places and experience what it was like in Colonial Williamsburg. You will have so much fun that you will forget how much work it took to be able to go on the trip. I am excited to find out who made it this year and to see if I also get to go on such a fun trip.
