Over the past summer, I went to Los Angeles California. This was a very memorable trip with my parents. Although I missed my sisters, it was still a great time and we got to see and do some amazing things. If I could pick a favorite family vacation, I would definitely choose this one!
When we first got to California, we went to the Santa Monica Pier. It was very loud. You could hear the sound of the waves crashing against the sandy shore and people talking. The smells of carnival food and fish were very strong. The next day, we went down to the beach, as well as Muscle Beach. At the beach, my dad and I went surfing. The first time trying to surf, we both got up and made it all the way to the beach without falling. Surfing is very scary! You can see the huge wave coming up behind you and the sound of the water hitting your board. When we were done surfing, we rode bikes for miles and miles along the warm beach! This was one of the most memorable parts of my trip.
We did many more fun things in California. We went to Hollywood and walked down the Walk of Fame. That was very packed with people! There were so many bodies jammed into one area, but it was a really cool place. We had a very good view of the Hollywood sign from the walk of fame. That night, we went to Griffith Observatory. The view was unbelievable! You could see the whole city! The street lights shining in the black sky were very cool. The only downfall was the fact that it took an hour and a half to get up a two mile hill because of traffic. Towards the end of the trip, we drove down the Pacific Coast Highway. That was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen! You could see and drive for miles all the way along the blue ocean coast.
