Spirit Spreader
The Spirit Spreader was at Chanute High School. Mrs. Rawlins took us there Wednesday morning. We had to leave school at 7 a.m. sharp! Oh my gosh, it was killer..! The whole cheer squad had a pretty good time (i think)!! There was about 20 or more schools that went there to learn a couple of cheers and a routine. There were dancers and cheerleaders, Middle School and High School participated in this. I think our favorite part was when we got to stunt! It was really fun and we went up in an EXTENSION! Like who else would wanna be like ten feet in the air held up by three people?! #cheer #awesome
We got a lunch break at 11:15 a.m. to go eat somewhere.. Well, Chanute is very small and with 30+ people per school there.. There was no place to eat. So we all had the bright idea to say “Yo why don’t we go eat at Walmart?” So we went and got some chicken, and a drink or 2 from Walmart and made it back to the High School before many of the other schools did. We all bonded that day and it was really fun! #creative #thinking
We went there to work on our Sportsmanship, Teamwork, and Confidence. We worked on Teamwork by playing a game of “Charades,” where one cheerleader had to act out a sentence the Staff had given them. Then I think we built confidence by learning cheers and putting yourself out there in front of other schools and teams. We gained Sportsmanship by pepping each other up, staying positive, etc. I think we all grew closer than when we came. I think all 8 of us had a great time doing a sport we love! I think it was a great idea to go to this camp!! #fun #worn-out
