Blinded by Kindness
When I first got into Riverton Middle School, I heard Mrs. McDonald’s Character Ed & Leadership class was fun, so I wanted to be in it. I learned many things in her class. When it came time around Christmas, that was when it was KINDNESS OVERLOAD! We wrapped presents for the homeless, we collected cell phones for soldiers, made blankets for the battered women's shelter, etc. I wasn’t in PAC, so I didn’t get to take the gifts or anything but I bet it was fun.
An act of Kindness my mom and I did a while back, was deliver Meals on Wheels for CrossRoads Christian Church and The Methodist Church in Baxter. I don’t remember it 100% because it was when I was little, but we did it a lot on Wednesday Nights for Youth Group or early mornings before Church on Sundays. In Youth Group, at Crossroads, we went to the Thrift Shop and packed boxes or organized the clothes on racks. This one is kinda random but, I helped my neighbors by watering her flowers, or helping her plant her flowers, etc. Then when she would go on business trips, her flowers would be nice when she got back.
Since I live with my Nanni (grandma), at the moment, I help her around the house. I usually only help on occasions, because I’m usually busy napping LOL. I clean the bathroom, and most times put clothes in the washer and dryer, etc.. I also am very very good at making dinner, or any food in general ;) soo, I cook sometimes when my family thinks I’ll be good at it. Kindness happens everyday even if you don’t know it. Just by helping someone with homework, a high-five, a hug, or just even listening can be a kind thing to do.
