This year at school we have been doing a lot of activities. In our Science class, we have been doing a lot of labs. We did a lab over mass, height, and a can lab. In the lab about mass, we did an experiment with three different items to see which item would go the farthest when hit by something. In the height lab, we bounced a golf ball off the ground and saw how high it went. In the can lab, we put 40 ml of water in an aluminium can and boiled it. When it started boiling, you flipped it upside down really fast into cold water. I learned a lot from these experiments. I learned about energy, mass, and velocity.
We have also been doing a lot of fun activities in weights. We have been lifting a lot. It is really fun to lift weights. Lifting will make you bigger and stronger. Before we actually start lifting, we do a warm up to get us in the mood for lifting. We run a lap around the impact gym, then we start stretching. We do all different types of stretches like lunges, t-spine rotations and other stuff like that. Then we start to lift. When lifting, we do all sorts of lifts. We do back squat, bench, deadlift sumo, and traditional, snatch, and snatch jerk. Wednesday is really boring, because we do yoga and yoga isn't really my thing. So, that day is really boring for me.
We have a new thing this year called Ram Time. Ram Time happens on Friday for 8th graders. We do fun activities in different classes. In one class, you can do a study hall, in another class you can do board games and in the gym we can play different games like kickball, dodgeball, or anything the teacher allows. You can only go to Ram Time if you don't get any strikes, zaps, not prepared marks or have troubled behavior. But if you get a strike or anything, you go to a class to do homework. So, for 8th graders it is a great way to end the week.
